Bon Iver covers I Can't Make You Love Me

I've been working on some acrylic paintings recently. Using some old drawings and some new ones, and making some interesting compositions. The drawings are a little "in-your-face" (that works on a few different levels) and I've tried to bring them back to "classy" with a little bit of gold, wallpaper accents. I've inadvertently started a small series, a series I like to call, "The Finer Things Club". (And Yes, that's an Office reference for anyone out there that may have wondered)
A whole family box of Velveeta mac 'n cheese apparently should not be consumed by one person (or so says my mother). I've tried telling her that I'm still growing, but she seems to be more concerned with my blood pressure than my height.
Anyways, I've started working on a painting. This is only the sketch with some color. The painting should be done by the end of the week. My mom asked me why he's screaming like that... She's convinced it's because he ate the whole box of Mac 'n Cheese. Let me know what you think! I appear to be slacking. I figured I would give myself the weekend off, no blogging, but couldn't seem to get myself motivated yesterday to do much of anything. I do however have TWO sketches for today. One of fingers, another of an Orange running a race (Not sure exactly where that came from). Check 'em out, tell me what you think. I'm going to get started on some more. And don't forget to click the "read more" button to see the other sketch.
If You haven't heard yet, the Shin's are back. The new album, Port of Morrow is out on March 20th. So mark you're calenders, and save up some extra dough, I'm pretty excited for this one.
It's not raining, but it definitely isn't sunny outside. So I grabbed a sharpie and some watercolors, and I figured I'd add a little color to the gloomy day.
Yesterday I posted an ink drawing of my hero, Roberto Clemente, so today I figured I'd bring us back to the future with my favorite Pittsburgh Pirate, Andrew McCutchen.
Well the Steelers' season is over and I'm trying to find ways to cope; so I'm already thinking about baseball. What better way to start getting into the Pittsburgh Pirate mood than to commemorate the Great One, Number 21. Roberto Clemente Oh yeah and I finished the SpaceMan. So Hit the jump to Check out the Drawings, step-by-step.
I've set another goal. My goal is, for the next 30 days, create and finish a drawing for each day; and post it that same day.
And, for lack of anything more exciting, here's the Spaceman I've started this morning. (Maybe I'll have it finished and posted tomorrow). I draw a lot; (Especially in my free time) and I love people watching, so it's a wonder why it has taken me so long to start combining these two. Here's the premise: I'll draw a random stranger on the sidewalk (it may have been you, sorry for using your likeness), and tweek it. It's a bit windy to try to explain it all, so I'll show you. It starts with a sketchA little 4x6 line drawing with a little "tweeking" to make the subject a little more interesting and expressive. And Then a WatercolorI scale it larger, Try to fill the space a little more, and more "tweeking". The third and final step will be large acrylic paintings.I'm constantly creating sketches and turning them into watercolors, but I only recently begun turning them into larger paintings.
I'll keep you posted as I keep cranking out artwork. Happy Friday! |
