It's been a long time since I've posted last and I'm feeling the need to get back into posting.

I've been working on a new series of bottles, decanters, and shooters, but unforntuately don't have any photos yet. Hopefully you'll get a glimpse of the new sets in the next week or two, but for now #MugShotMondays!

Finding Time to Make time

So I've finally completed my photobooth in the basement and can finally start to photograph work!

Of course I took this as an opportunity to also inventory all of my work so I can get my shop up-and-running also; and naturally, that is delaying the process.

But there is good news,  I have made progress! Artwork is strewn across the basement and I have already begun to photograph.  Soon (hopefully very soon)  I will have pots in the shop and photos in the portfolio.  Here is a preview of what the slides will look like.

Love Front Porch

On my way to-and-from the Union Project, it's not uncommon that I will travel through Oakland.  It's a bit of a scenic route compared the the strip district and offers a change of pace.  But occasionally I will also travel down Centre Avenue and through the Hill District, and that neighborhood tends to be a bit rougher.
On my past few trips, I've noticed what looked like a political sign, only it read: "Stop Shooting - We Love You".

It wasn't until today that I found out where this sign came from, and since I'm all for supporting fellow local artists, I highly recommend watching this video and visiting the site LoveFrontPorch.  Her name is Vanessa German and she's an artist.

Enjoy

Well, I've been working on building a photo booth so I can start photographing my work again.

After I get the lighting done, you will see new photos, new artwork, and most importantly... the Shop will be up and running!

But for now, here's something to keep you entertained in the meantime.

It's that time of the year again.. The first weekend in June is quickly approaching and if you're from Pittsburgh, you should know by now that means the Three Rivers Arts Festival is here.

June 1-10, you can find me hawking my artwork along with 7 other ceramic artists of the Union Project in the artists market (Our booth will be located right next to the fountain in Gateway Center).

And during the first weekend (June 1-3) you can come watch us give wheel-throwing demonstrations in the Giant Eagle Creativity Zone in Point State Park.

So come out, Support Local Artists, Enjoy some Food and Free Music all week at the 3Rivers Arts Fest, June 1-10.

The Finer Things

I've been working on some acrylic paintings recently.  Using some old drawings and some new ones, and making some interesting compositions.  The drawings are a little "in-your-face" (that works on a few different levels) and I've tried to bring them back to "classy" with a little  bit of gold, wallpaper accents.  I've inadvertently started a small series, a series I like to call, "The Finer Things Club". (And Yes, that's an Office reference for anyone out there that may have wondered)

A whole family box of Velveeta mac 'n cheese apparently should not be consumed by one person (or so says my mother).  I've tried telling her that I'm still growing, but she seems to be more concerned with my blood pressure than my height.
Anyways, I've started working on a painting.  This is only the sketch with some color.  The painting should be done by the end of the week.  My mom asked me why he's screaming like that... She's convinced it's because he ate the whole box of Mac 'n Cheese.
Let me know what you think!
