Artist Statement

A lot can be said about a person by what their hands look like; hygiene, labor, and personality are a few things that become apparent by looking at a person’s hands.  It is through the prints of our finger tips that we can be identified.  I have become intrigued with the subtleties in shape and mannerisms related to the human hand.  I love drawing hands and fingers. My artwork is influenced by graffiti, street art, and cartoon and comic strip art.  My drawings have engulfed my pottery, covering it in intertwined and stacked simplified and cartoon-like fingers.
